Spring for Lyme is proud to announce our 3rd Annual Charity Fundraiser.
Our Mission & Goals

The Kenney Family Foundation and the Tick Information Center have joined forces this year to raise funds for ultimate goal of aiding the Lyme disease crisis.

Our mission is to benefit the Lyme community, through research, education, awareness and support. This year’s beneficiaries include the following organizations:

RESEARCH

LymeMD, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, created in 2007 by Dr. John Aucott, in response to the devastating toll that Lyme disease takes on previously healthy, energetic individuals. LymeMD has become a nationally recognized program attracting top collaborators around the country.

Bridging Research and Medical Care

  • Accelerating research that brings the finest tools of scientific research to patient care.
  • Educating physicians and the public about Lyme disease.
  • Developing academically affiliated Lyme disease research clinics in communities where Lyme disease care is delivered.
  • Creating a clinical database and conducting research by examining patients’ initial diagnosis and treatment of Lyme disease in the community practice of medicine.

EDUCATION AND AWARENESS

The National Capital Lyme and Tick-Borne Disease Association

The National Capital Lyme Disease Association is an all volunteer not-for-profit organization that is committed to helping patients diagnosed with tick-borne illnesses.  Founded in 2001 with headquarters in McLean VA, just outside the Nation’s capital, NatCapLyme has chapters and partnerships with other organizations throughout the country. NatCapLyme is committed to helping patients diagnosed with tick-borne infections through education, support, and advocacy.  They encourage patients to advocate for themselves in their goal to regain their health.  NatCapLyme offers patient support group meetings, information, speakers, legislative developments, and news updates.

The National Capital Lyme and Tick-Borne Disease Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE FOR CHILDREN

The LymeAid 4 Kids (LA4K) fund has been providing children with Lyme disease access to health care since 2004. To date they have distributed over $183,000 to help children from 26 U.S. states and Canada. The fund was originally established with the help of author Amy Tan and was established for children with economic difficulties and those who do not have insurance coverage for Lyme disease diagnosis and treatment. There are so many applicants, the fund does run out of money frequently, so your help is greatly appreciated. If you have a program or organization that you would like us to consider for 2013, please submit your request to the committee.
